At GV Creations and Creative Creatures we agree that the most important part of this Easter break is spending time with the family. Many memories revolve around hunting for the last easter egg, painting eggs with mum or baking goods for everyone to indulge in.
There are many activities you can plan at home to get the kids excited about this special time of the year. You can create gift bags or bunny baskets overflowing with little easter eggs for the neighbours kids; or you can disguise your strawberries as carrots by dipping them in chocolate. Even out of the kitchen, there are many things you can do this weekend, such as dying egg shells and using them as your base in a vase.

Dinosaur Designs

DINOSAURDESIGNS

Recently we had the chance to explore the inside of Dinosaur Designs from the creator's point of view. Stephen Ormandy spoke to a body of students at Enmore Design Centre late last month. It was amazing to hear how a beautiful brand which began so small, developed into the world renowned name it is today. Ormandy expressed how slow it was starting out in the design world and the many challenges he faced. As a student, he and two friends began by selling their handmade goods in Sydney's Paddington Markets. Within two years they had a studio in Kings Cross where they sold to stores throughout Sydney and Melbourne. Today their designs are sold over nine countries around the world.
It was their individuality and exploration which made their designs so unique. Ormandy revealed where the inspiration came from and how it was represented in their work. He explained how it was as simple as going back to basics. Their collection 'Earth' was inspired by pebble stones Ormandy found years ago when we was travelling overseas. The creations truly reflect the organic feel and shape. Here at GV Creations we are in love with their pepper grinder from this range!

As we are approaching winter, it is easy to slip into the dark shadows and ongoing theme of black. Try and brighten up your place with a good bunch of flowers from your local florist or your home grown garden. Using interesting objects as your vase can transform the bunch into a centrepiece. Have a look around the house! Do you have any old tomato tins, mason jars or buckets? 

Even a cute T2 teapot which you have on display can come in handy. Make sure you refresh the water ever 1-2 days and the flowers have a source of sunlight. DIY's are a great thing to keep you and the family busy. Try getting arts and crafty with your bucket of flowers by stencilling on some words, or having the kids finger paint the outside of an old tin. If you have the time you can even grow your own flowers from one of your new objects. Todays the day to think outside the box!

Two years ago we discovered McGee Interiors in Melbourne. Mesmerized by the window displays, there was no option of passing up this experience. Here, we were introduced to one of the staff, Isabella who offered a tour of their wonderful shop. Entranced by the patterns and fabrics, it was not something that would be forgotten. Today, McGee Interiors are online and offer many services such as curtains, furniture, lamps, cushions and much more. The beautiful addition to their designs is their magnificent  customer service.

Emma W is definitely one of our favourite artists at the moment. Her illustrations are breathtaking and incredibly creative. At 23 years of age she produces talent way beyond her years.
